Hello tcmc1313,
The theme detects the mobile/tablet layout via @media query and all of these settings are placed in style.css. If you want to change this behaviour, please notice that you will need to make more additional customizations through code that involves custom work but please notice that we cannot provide this, sorry! You will have to implement yourself and if you are not aware of the steps you will need to hire somebody to help you in this regard.
Thanks for your understanding!
This has been your guys response to every inquiry I have asked where other people have asked similar yet slightly different questions and you have been super helpful to them. Can you just give me the files that I have to look at please so it cuts out hours of me digging through theme files.
I want mobile as in phones to still redirect to the mobile layout but tablet to load the normal site. Are you saying the only place I have to look is in the style.css? Would that be on the desktop or mobile stylesheet?
Hello tcmc1313,
Please keep in mind that I cannot help you in this regard with a simple rule of CSS because it is not an easy task and in order to achieve as you wish you will have to make some adjustments in style.css until brings best results. First of all, to be safety, please try to make a full backup for your style.css core file because all of these modifications have to be made in that file. As you can see, our theme does not have such an option that offers you a way to simply switch the mobile layout for tablets and that’s why you should change the style for it in the core file. Please notice that I will give you only a hint on what you can achieve as you wish…so, you will have to replace all the 767px (width of mobile) with the width of your tablets (1018px or 1140px) as you can see here -> http://screencast.com/t/LvBXodHALb. Please notice that that file is very huge and you will have to change approx 728 matches…you can try to use the Search and Replace option.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for your understanding!
I am familiar with CSS so that all makes sense. The suggestions you made seems to work if The mobile plugin is disabled. I am referring to the plugin itself that activates the mobile layout files and how it detects. Because it is loading on tablets too which I do NOT want. I want to reduce the screen size to about 600px detection and then it will load the mobile site files.
I made this work with the plugin disabled with the suggestions you made. What am I missing to get this to work with the mobile plugin/mobile site files?
Hello tcmc1313,
Please notice that mobile theme has own core files and this concept is too sensible for changing. If you want to modify it, please notice that you will have to check all of the mobile files and style.css for mobile, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/HUBV1dM93qRN
I hope this helps and if you are not aware of the steps, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you!
Thanks.
