Hi there, i recently activated the mobile theme to improve my site speed and it looks that everything works fine but when i try to navigate through the menu and select one of the sections not even one post is shown. I created the whole website pages using your tagdiv composer but as i said before i cannot see any of the post when navigating on the mobile theme. Probably I am doing something wrong but i cannot find it ¿any idea?
Hi,
Please note that using mobile theme you’ll need to make some new pages in mobile editor ( without builders/composers using only the classic editor ) please check our documentation for mobile theme -> https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi there Calin:
I have read all your info about mobile theme and unfortunately is not so clear (any least for me). First I thought that activating the mobile theme will shown a new page called “Mobile Theme” to customize the mobile theme, but not. Now i just discovered that i have to create a new page for mobile theme and use the classic editor that i eliminated following your directions in order to use the TAGDIV COMPOSSER. Is there any other way to do it? if not could you be more specific about the steps to do it?? (we are not PRO´S and sometimes every change is a high mountain to climb)
Hi,
The mobile theme is a plugin that provide you a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to use for pages that are made with builders ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) only the classic editor also for mobile theme the content for pages need to be set in mobile editor -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ebUIzt4se
You can check our live demo from here ->https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_local_news/
Thank you!
Hi there again Calin.
I have follow your indications and pretty much everything works on the mobile version of my website except the navigation menu. Could you enlighten me there?? you can check my site http://www.Howpple.com (the mobile theme is on)
As far as I understand I have to rebuild the pages by using the classic editor (html) but I use TagDiv Composer to built them, and your site says very clear: DO NO USE BOTH COMPOSER AT SAME TIME. Is there any solution? What can I do? are you planning to change the mobile theme to use it with TagDiv Composer?
Just a thought. Would it not be easier to work backwards and just make the Newspaper theme responsive better to work on mobile.
It seems like we’re having to do more and more work when I actually bought the theme due to it being responsive so I wouldn’t have to worry about creating a whole other mobile site. As I have a very busy news site using Newspaper, I can’t afford to ‘try’ these new things as they often become buggy. It seems that since Google is pushing ‘Mobile first’ and they’re huge on speedy sites, the developer would go back into the Newspaper theme and make it speedier.
Just a thought on this.
I agree with Gooma2! You have virtually ruined everything I’ve work hard on by doing these silly updates and releases.
AMP update was just silly and I’m sure has annoyed an awful lot of your customers. Just look at this forum for example, it’s riddled with AMP queries!
My google analytics have all been lost too meaning that I can’t show the stats to my paying clients!
All you have done is offer a refund so that I can use a different theme. A refund would not cover the huge amount of work that would be needed to build a new site from scratch!
What are you guys going to do about these issues? Newspaper used to be great, now we’re all getting annoyed! I don’t want to leave!
Scott
Hi @espedfk2,
Mobile theme is an editor not a builder like tagDiv Composer or WPBackery ( on those two builder is not good to use on the same time ).
@scott.dutton
Note that if you do not like to use the mobile theme plugin do not use it ( this is your choose ), our theme is responsive and will keep the content and layout that you made with tagDiv Composer you can do the same with the AMP plugin.
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi espedfk2,
I checked again and your menu is working, but I think that you do not quiet understand how mobile theme plugin is working!
The mobile theme is a plugin that provide you a better speed then responsive version of theme, but in order to achieve that speed you’ll need to use for pages that are made with builders ( tagDiv Composer, WPBakery ) only the mobile editor, also for mobile theme the content for pages need to be set in mobile editor -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ebUIzt4se
Please check carefully our documentation for Mobile Theme: Automatic Optimization for Mobile with Newspaper Theme ->https://tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-automatic-optimization-for-mobile-newspaper-theme/
Thanks.
Hi there Calin:
First of all thanks for the heads up. Second i just feel that our conversation is in a infinite spiral of back and forth.
I really like the mobile theme, actually i have seen an improvement not just in the speed, but also in the amount of visits. BUT i see a big difference if you press between the article tag or the main menu. If you try it (please try it in my site from a mobile device) you will see the difference:
If you navigate to the Main menu: you will get a page without any post or article.
If you press any Tag in the general page: you will get EXACTLY what i am looking for and what I was expecting from mobile version.
Hi,
First if you are using the mobile theme you need to set for each page a new content with mobile editor https://www.screencast.com/t/ebUIzt4se ( if you do not have any content in mobile editor then the page will be empty like yours ).
Let’s try to make a content for a mobile page togged, first set a content in mobile editor using only the mobile editor elements -> https://www.screencast.com/t/BPqBwYCpbDqa update the page and here are the results -> https://www.screencast.com/t/QFTi71JLkojW
Thank you for your understanding!
Hi Again Calin (Episode 303):
I really need you see this video I uploaded because I really don’t understand one thing. You said my menu in a mobile version works but there is no content BUT (Here is where we talk about different stuff) if I add some text or html to the mobile editor I will see it on the page but not my post. On the other hand if I press a category in the general Page i will see the content I wanna show. PLEASE CHECK THIS VIDEO that I made so you can see what i mean.
You will se what happened when I press the main menu and later when i press in a category
Hi,
I try to check your video, but this is not working -> https://www.screencast.com/t/BQcLQcs0e8a
What you do not understand is that in your mobile menu you have set links to go on pages ( and those pages need to be re-build with mobile editor that is way you see only the page title, those are the only “elements/parts” from mobile theme that need to be re-build ), if you set a different menu for mobile theme to go on some post/category ( the mobile theme have a default template for those and will get the content from post/category that’s why when you click on a post, or a category you are redirect to those. )
Thank you!
I updated the video so you can check it now.
Is there then anyway to delete the navigation menu and put a cathegory cloud on the mobile theme.
I thought that a simple menu would work either in regular version than in mobile, and only the content changes to a more plain and quick versión
