I have been using W3 fine for years, please fix the mobile theme so it works with W3. It used to work, so it should still work with it now.
Thanks
How come it is incompatible but it used to be in 9.5?
Also, why is Super Cache supporter but W3 is not?
Guess this means that I won’t be updating anymore.
Hi,
Based on user feedback (we haven’t tested for ourselves) that caching plugin may create problems with the the mobile theme.
This has been the case before, hasn’t just started recently. The mobile theme will work with super cache, with other caching plugins it may not function correctly. What may happen is that the mobile theme will begin loading on desktop, or some pages will use the mobile version and others not, maybe other issues. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks
I’ve been using W3 for years with this theme and never had an issue.
I presume the mobile version is still cached with 9.6?
Thanks
With the theme there may be no problems, I have seen all kinds of caching plugins or methods used. But with the mobile theme which is more sensible and that caching plugin there may be.
Could be a specific setting from the plugin that causes it, you could begin testing various configurations if the total cache has settings for mobile. I would provide you with a guide but don’t have one unfortunately.
That’s odd. I’m using W3 for years, and it’s been great so really relucatant to update if it isn’t supported. The button shows as red for me and says W3 isn’t supported.
Have you managed to get the AMP working?
About 2 years ago i heard about W3TC, may be it’s free & having bunch of features included – so i went to try it & 🙁 too many individual features to handle with. Even some of my fav. top bloggers also suggested W3TC features should only be used when you’re completely aware of your customization, little mistake can create great trouble.
Last year after hearing about WP Rocket from most of the top bloggers reviews i gave it a try – too much user friendly functions to tweak website. Since it works fine with Newspaper & for it’s supports – never felt necessity to look around for another cache plugins.
Ya, my AMP issue is sorted out, just having some minor doubts to be cleared from devs, waiting for their reply there.
I think that 9.5 will be the latest version. I spent hours configuring W£ to be perfect, and to be honest, don’t see any benefits in updating.
Hopefully AMP is fixed, and W3 support is added again, then maybe I will update. Pretty disappointed that features are always broken in nearly every update.
