Mobile Version – Android

Hi, firstly we are enjoying the theme, good work and as always good support. Our current issue is the way it displays on mobile devices. For example on Galaxy S5 and similar devices it looks strange and quite jumpy.

For example, if you click on an image in Android it takes you to a new page and not the media file.

The images don’t appear flushed with content instead they sit on top of each other.

Example URL’s:

Hi,

I have tested and checked your site and did found some issue with post images which when clicked are opened in light box using simple light box plugin but I believe they are not displayed right.
Please deactivate all plugins empty cache and purge files if you use any CDN plugins and check again.
Please let me know if this is still happening.

Thanks

Hi,
Okay I tried that and there is no difference. Unfortunately we have no choice but to use the simple lightbox plugin as the that comes with Newspaper thesme doesnt seem to work and always opens the file in a new page even with media file clicked.

WHat are the bext options, we want this working?

Hi,

At a closer look I can notice that two lightbox instances are opening when clicking an image.
You can use only the simple lightbox plugin or the light box feature of the theme. Regarding the theme lightbox note that you also need to set the modal view “On” for and image in order to get the lightbox on it and you can do that by editing the image and setting it like this: http://screencast.com/t/0vZXd0rqq
You can read more about displaying image using modal window here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/display-image-using-modal-window/
If you want to disable the modal view on your site and only use the plugin you can do it like this: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/dont-want-light-box-for-images/#post-17108
Hope this helps!

Thanks

Brilliant Lucian, that worked perfectly. Is there a way of tweaking and adding the following:

Adding a frame or other styling to the Modal light box feature?

Is there a way of turning on the Modal box by default – to on?

Also, I notice that after I disabled plugin, emptied cache, and turned on Modal for each individual image that some of the images are displaying errors when you click on them – like: “The Image Number #1 cannot be loaded” here: http://www.viewpointsandreviews.com/langtry-manor-review/

Thanks
Vince

Hi,

Glad it worked, unfortunately you will need custom work to customize the modal view of images and at this time we cannot provide any custom as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. You can always get a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ if you don’t know how to do it yourself.
Regarding the modal view by default I can only let you know that we have this on our todo list and we are still search for a optimal way to implement this and hopefully we will have this available for future updates.
That error message appears when using modal view for an image which is set to link to the attachment page, you need to edit the image and set it to link to the media file.
Hope this helps!

Thanks
