Modal Images Not Working After 9.7.3 Update

After the latest update Modal Images are no longer working although the global setting is set to active.
Please note that all post images were previously set to ‘modal’ on a per image basis as well.

Newspaper Theme Panel
> Layout Settings > Post Settings > General Modal Image Active

I manually activated the ‘modal’ image on a post image and that also did not work.

Example: (click on first image in post)

Navigation arrows show as if modal images are all active on page however it shows an error:
“The image #1 could not be loaded.”

The image/media loads fine and is available:

I’ve now corrected the latest post by turning off the Global Modal Image setting and individually activated ‘modal’ on each post image.

Will there be a fix for this as I have hundreds of older posts with the same issue.

As I mentioned I did disable the general modal option which doesn’t correct anything.
Images open in the same window/tab with the general modal disabled.
Activating the modal option on a per image basis is not a real option for sites with thousands of images.

well I have the same problem as well as all the searches box are gone. It usually take a week when it is not two weeks to build a post and with the image problem ‘modal’ this sucks like hell – have a look and tell me what you think

I used in this post everything : Html Tables, MP3, MP4 and the modal thing make the post unreadable as long as the reader doesn’t understand that after clicking on one image he has to use the browser ‘back’ feature to get back to the text :((

I want to be sure I understand the situation:

– tagDIV has acknowledged that the last updated broke functionality of the General Modal option
– there is no current fix for this (disabling General Modal is NOT a fix)
– activating the modal option on a per image basis (within each post) is not a real option for sites with thousands of images
– there is no timeline for correcting the issue or any indication that you’re working to resolve the issue

You could at least say when you plan this update and how long our pages will be deprived of one of the basic functions

Correcting broken theme functionality should be a priority not an ‘improvement’ as you’ve mentioned. This is something that tagDiv caused and it should be fixed quickly. This creates a major issue on hundreds of pages + thousands of images on my site.
It doesn’t seem like support is taking this issue seriously.

I’ve the same problem, but, the general modal is disabled on theme panel. When I try to add an image on post, don’t appear the options of tagdiv to do it as modal image.

Has any whay to downgrade the version?

I’m using the Gutenberg editor
