Modal Popup Question

Hello team,

I use the modal popup in my header for the Newsletter signup. What I’ve noticed is, if it is accessed when a page / post is open, it inherits the settings for the page / post.

To be clearer, I have a setting, where all posts have a “reaction” / emoji comment activated. This is deactivated for “pages”. But when I open a modal popup (feat. the Newsletter page id) from a post, it also shows the reaction emoji underneath. If I open the same modal popup from a page, like the About Us page, it doesn’t show the emojis.

Please note, this only happens when the modal popup is set to a page ID. It is fine when I use custom content in the modal.

Is there a way to solve this so that modal popups don’t inherit settings?

Hello @theheritagelab !

Please provide more information(screenshots/video) about what exactly you need to achieve and what is the issue.

A solution for sending a screenshot/video is this:
Download, capture, and send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
After making the screenshot, you will have a link; paste it here.

Thank you!

Hi Bettina,

Sure. Please see this link to the homepage (it is a page). and the top right button “Subscribe”. This is a modal popup and opens the Page ID “Newsletters“.

Now, please see this post and the same ‘subscribe’ modal button. You will notice, inside the modal, “share your reaction”. This feature is set ONLY for posts. Technically it should not appear because the modal is opening a “Page”, i.e Newsletters.

This does not happen if I add “custom content” in the modal. It does not matter then whether you open the modal from a page or post, it only displays the custom content.

So basically, the modal when set to a PageID is inheriting the settings of the page / post from where it is opened. How can I prevent this? I would like the modal to open the page as is.

I hope my problem is clearer now.

Hello @theheritagelab !

It’s a plugin conflict there. Which plugin do you use for those reactions?

Thank you!
