Modified date: how to show only when different from post date?

Hello, I want to show the modified date below the post date, but only when the post was indeed modified after being posted. Is that a way to do so?

Hi,

Unfortunately there is no option in our theme for this, I think this it can be achieved using some custom code, maybe something with JavaScript or jquery.
