How can we use the modified date instead of the published date?
Previously I edited the single.php file and changed the php get_the_date to php the_modified_date
However, I am not sure that can still be done and, either way, it will be removed after any update.
Do you have a long term solution where we can choose to show either the published or modified date in the actual post.

Before the recent theme updates it was possible to modify the single template files in a child theme, and make the modification there. But now the single template files are in the tagDiv composer plugin – http://prntscr.com/oa14e0
It is possible to modify them there, but the modifications will be lost after a theme update.
However you could use a cloud post template – https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Single
Import/create a cloud post template and apply it to the posts. These templates can be edited with the composer, and also have a modified date element available

Please could you enable in the next update the option to show modified date in the actual post, rather than using the cloud template.
Maybe something like that will be available in the future, can’t say for sure. Sorry for the inconvenience.
