Please follow the below path:
Dashboard > Theme Panel > Post Settings > More Article Box > Display Articles > Category
There is an option to show articles based off of “Category.” However, it is showing the oldest posts from this related category. How can this be customized to show the latest articles from the related category?
By default it only shows the oldest articles from this category. Why would anyone want that when they are trying to get the latest news? I need it to show most recent articles from category.
NOTE: The “Latest” option shows most recent articles but IT DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO FILTER BY CATEGORY. SO THIS OPTION WILL NOT WORK FOR MY NEEDS.
How can I select Category and make it show most recent articles by category? Do you have some code you can give me to stick in theme? OR can you fix it?
Please see the More Article Box in this screenshot where the red arrow is pointing. I know the photos are not showing, but if you look at the dates the posts are from 2012. I need the latest posts from 2021 to show.

Unfortunately this is how the More article box works at the moment. When this feature was created many of the options available now were not available then. The only filtering options are the ones that you already see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/RUVJTVfxYwt

It would be great if this feature was changed to pull the most recent article. How many news websites are going to want to push articles from years ago? Wouldn’t they want the most recent by category, by tag, etc…?
Please submit this information when the next version of the Newspaper Theme is being developed or when there is going to be a major update.
