Is there anyway to have the More Stories box never return once a visitor has chosen to close it once. Is that what “never” is supposed to do?

Hi,
Setting it to “never” should do just that. I have also tested this and seems that this option it’s not working properly within the latest theme version. I have added this on our issue tracker list, we will further investigate this and will fix it next theme version.
