Hi, is there was way, through code, to move the search button to the left hand side?

Aside from having to create a new header?

Thanks

Hi,

Yes, now it’s possible if you will use the Header Builder for this. Please check the following documentation from here -> https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-customize-the-header-manager/ You can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/ieQA2PuuB3

Thanks for your understanding!

Okay then, but how does one make a copy of the present header if it’s not in the cloud template library? I see how one can duplicate anything you add in there.

But I would need to first test things out with changing what I have.

Thanks

Hi,

Indeed, all the cloud templates can be duplicated, there is an option for that.

Moving the search icon to the left could be done with some CSS, if possible post a link to the website where you want to do this so I can create a code for it. Let me know.

Thanks

Thanks Simion,
BUT, for future reference as well,
I need to know how to duplicate the present template which is not a cloud template.

OR, at the very least, how to copy all the settings from the present template onto one of your cloud templates.

Right now I’m using the default Style 5 template…I imagine the Template #5 in the cloud is the same thing? Thus, how can I apply what I have now to Template #5?…that way, I can duplicate it and play with different versions.

They are not the same, one is a predefined post template, non-editable with the composer, and has a predefined structure in a PHP file. These can be modified in a child theme if needed. A new template can only be added like so
https://forum.tagdiv.com/api-single-template-introduction/

But all that would not be necessary since the introduction of the cloud library plugin. The cloud templates can be edited with the composer, modified, duplicated.
We replicated the design of the predefined post templates in cloud templates, also added some new designs.

What would you like to apply exactly from a predefined post template to a cloud template? A predefined post template will always look the same in structure and design. The post content will be the same in both. Let me know if I misunderstand.

Well, there’s the matter of the color and styles which are set by the theme colors…but when you make use of the cloud templates for headers you need to go in and manually change everything so they look the way you set things up through the Theme Colors. Follow? Sure, once you finally get it looking the way you want you can then duplicate that particular template…But….

Regardless, I’m giving up temporarily on this. I DID make use of one template but noticed how slow they were to show up on the site. They were always the last thing to materialize and even though it was a matter of a second or two…that still too long for me. The original templates show up immediately.

Also, I noticed a problem with some maps I have on the site. The Cloud template menu ends getting screwy when scrolling down past one of these maps.

That is true indeed, didn’t think of that at the time. You can use default post templates perfectly fine, cloud templates are not a required thing to have. Maybe after further improvements made by us in coming updates, you can give them a try again.

Please let us know if you have more questions.

Looking forward to the improvements Simion.
