Multiple Categories using "AND" instead of "OR"

Hello!

Love the theme, but I have one behavior that I’m wondering has been implemented (I saw a support message from last year about it, but nothing more recent).

I’m using the Block 16 block, and I’m filtering on multiple categories. Right now, though, if a post is in either selected category, it shows up. The behavior I’m looking for is to have it show up only if it is in BOTH categories. Is there a syntax that will make this happen?

This is still in our attention but we didn’t added it as an option for the theme yet. However you can achieve a similar result trough a combination in block filters. You can combine category filter with tag filter, basically tag filter will be used as a second category.
You can add a tag, for those posts that you want to display in block, then use in block filter the settings like here: http://screencast.com/t/UmvXAr1q6sLI The theme will display all posts from selected category but only if they have the selected tag.

We would like this behaviour as well — We will try to implement it in code to see if there is an option of hooking into the existing functionality to change the multiple categories selection into an AND condition. I didn’t realize it wasn’t an OR until we tried it.

Hi – was wondering if any one found a solution to this? I’m pretty comfortable editing code but not sure what file(s) need editing.
