I love this new theme….but I am getting reports that people cannot see my website. Why are some people able to see it, and others cannot? My website: http://whygodreallyexists.com/

“Slow to load but I can see it”

“I see pics with the stories. Not much on top of the page tho. Is there supposed to be ?”

“There’s a web page not available, but i can see some images.”

“Yesterday, I went to your site and it said, “Oooops error 404″. Site is no longer available. Today the same thing. ”

Likely check error log for your hosting account.

Check system status in theme panel to ensure you have enough RAM allocated to WordPress.

Consider fewer modules in sidebar/footers, don’t use ‘mega menus’, turn off lazy loading animation, consider turning off related posts/more by author, and the like.

If your system getting ‘overloaded’ from peak access times, you need to look at optimizing your site for both resources on your system, and how many things are using those resources in your layout.

Just food for thought (I don’t work here) 🙂

Thank you. I took a poll on facebook and everyone could see the site. So I am not sure why the one woman was seeing “Oooops error 404″.

I have condensed my front page down…. and I am working on making it faster. Looking through the documents on this forum to do that.

Thank you for your reply Chris.

No prob.

Note another reason, if your site is https, and you’re using a free https certificate as part of the https everywhere initiative; most of the new free https certs will make the site unusable for very old, insecure web browsers that don’t support TLS and only support defunct SSL1/2/3.

This is kind of rare, but it does impact some people who have folks still running WinXP, or Win7 with IE7/8/9/10 — all of which are defunct/deprecated and not secure at this point.
