My site is slow with newspaper theme

when i use the default wordpress theme , dns resolve fine but when i use newspaper theme it takles 3 seconds to find website .

Also there is http error while uploading images .

I have the same issue and i believe is the VC plugin. But we need to fix that since wi pay lots money on server side setup and i think I’ts not good one plugin to make damage to the rest of the site.

We need more support for this issue.

There is a “beta” SHIM workaround that Radu came up with; not sure if it works with Newspaper 6 yet.
Idea is that you can build your home page with VC, then use the “shim” and turn VC OFF… downside is that you lose some of the more fancy features of VC; but your site will work with high traffic. VC is a bit of a memory hog so you have to both ensure your server setup properly for memory usage; including increasing default memory in your wp-config.php file (MANDATORY!), and limit queries on your post pages (e.g., have a “most recent” items block on sidebar, not 4 categories of news modules in sidebar; don’t use mega-menu, etc.).

The column is supposed to be shown next to the content, but it is shown below the content. So I guess the 2/3 and 1/3 split is not working

Are you using some cache plugin?

Nginx FastCGI Caching, but it should not affect this as it is running on the web server layer and disabled during I am logged in as admin
