my theme says newspaper 6 when it should say newspaper 8

i cannot seem to download the updated theme. my theme shows me newspaper 6 and says that is the latest version, but the latest version is newspaper 8. even though i have downloaded newspaper 8, it will still not update

Make sure you install properly.

DELETE your old wp-content/plugins/newspaper

theme folder; upload new one.

Update any theme plugins you use as well, which are also found in the ‘all files’ download, in the Newspaper-tf folder.

If you *look* at the style.css file when you download from ThemeForest it will say:
