On our navigation bar we have a purple line that is supposed to show up under the nav bar topic when you hover over the topic (this shows someone the subject/topic they have chosen). Your newspaper demo has this ‘subject/topic’ line in blue. The problem is I cannot find how to ‘control’ the line and it is not working properly, it currently is showing up across most of the nav bar. There is something clearly wrong and I have spent over 3 hours on this and am now asking for help. Our site is- https://kuellife.com/

Did you add any custom css code to your theme panel? Please remove any custom code you added in the theme panel and try to disable any untested plugin to see if one does not affect the menu items. You will have to clear cache afterwards though.

Up until yesterday when you gave us a CSS code to change a font we had not entered any CSS code. I am a complete BEGINNER! How do we control the topic being underlined by the navigation bar???

Since we are on the homepage they are all current menu items, also clicking on those items will direct to the homepage.
This should not happen if the menu was created properly. Categories should be entered like this in the menu

Then it will be a category menu item, directing to the category page. Double check the menu items, remove them and re-add them as categories if needed.

I will attempt to redo what you are saying I should do. But why does the navigation bar work when you are not on the home page? For example, if you click on an article on the home page, it takes you to the article. The navigation bar appears to work fine if you are on the ‘article page’. It is only the home/landing page that appears not to work.

They are not highlighted because you are not on the homepage, it is not the current page. Please review the menu structure and add the categories properly, as category items. They should not link to the home page
