Need Help…

I am having lots of trouble with this theme. I load predefine styles and the big slider doesn’t work.I post listed as featured but it still shows nothing. I have no idea how to move the blocks around and build a homepage from scratch. I was looking over docks and it said to start a “new” page but how do you make that page your home page? The biggest thing is the big slider doesn’t work. If I could even get that to work I would feel I was getting somewhere.

You need to create a new “page” and call it something like myhomepage; then in the WP settings, choose the static page myhomepage to work as home page.

The main wordpress docs are also very helpful in learning to use wordpress since the theme is merely an overlay of what wordpress does at core:

You just helped me sooooooo much. Thank you… Now if I can just figure out why the big slider will not show images.

FYI, I don’t work here, just “paying forward” all the help I’ve gotten from others over the years. Good karma and all that 🙂

I found that when my big slider wasn’t working, it was one of two things: (1) I confused “last 7 days” with “latest” and ended up with too few in posts eligible to be displayed, or (2) I had divided the slider’s row. It never displayed for me when it wasn’t in a 1/1 row; not sure if it’s supposed to. Anyway, that might help.

Okay as I am messing around with designing pages, I notice when I use a block it doesn’t show a preview picture with the post. Is there a button or something I am not hitting?

The posts have the image set as featured image and not just an image in the article?

Show featured image is turned on under post settings in theme panel?

Cache is cleared?

I figured everything out. I didn’t have featured image set. That is why the pictures were not coming up. Thank you to everyone in this post for helping me. It was hard to describe what I wanted to do because I was so new to this theme (wordpress in general) and didn’t know the proper terms. Thank you again.
