Need to wait 1 month to unassign primary domain after unassigning staging domain

Hi, I have had the license active for several months for a site. Now I’m moving the license to another site due to abandoned project. I unassigned the staging domain, but then got a notification that I need to wait 1 month to unassign the primary domain. Is that a bug?

Hello,

No, is not a bug. The limit to switch the license was increased to one month.
Normally, as you know you can assign the license to two websites.

Thank you!

Hi Anamaria

Thanks for confirming. The problem is, the old site is going to be taken down this week. How can I unassign the license without the site?

Would it make more sense that you can unassign both primary and staging license at the same time, without need to wait 1 month in between?

Some background to my case: I have bought 2 licenses, since originally I had the site in 2 language versions in 2 domains. But later we decided to use only 1 domain for a multilingual site, and hence I could transfer the second license to my next project.

Hello!

Please be aware that you can only change the key after one month.

Thank you for understanding!

Hi Bettina

Could you please explain how this applies to my case?

Hello!

If you have 2 keys, then you can reset one key from a domain.

Thank you!

Hi

So if I reset the key from a domain, does it also get unassigned and can be attached to a new domain? What’s the difference between key reset and key unassign?

Hello!

The difference between them is the advantage to enter only on a domain and manage all domains better.

Thank you!
