I did a very soft launch of a website today, starting off with demo content that I then stripped out so I had a layout ready to roll. Unfortunately, from moment one of installing with the demo content, it seems my site loads very slow page to page. I thought once it went live it might be fine, however, it is still quite slow.
I am on BlueHost, and using the stock configs of theirs and the theme. Any clue as to what is going on or what I need to change?

I am not sure what the situation is as I installed the theme as it said to, and the demo content. I didn’t modify code or anything with it. So I am confused as to what is going on.
I am lost here. The server host (BlueHost) has claimed they have done everything on their end to optimize and make it work, pretty well pointing to the theme as the issue, and everything needing optimized. They sent me this to do:

Also, I am getting a yellow warning on WP Memory Limit stating “40 MB/request – We recommend setting memory to at least 256MB” in the system, however, when giving this information to them, they say they have upped it, even though the error is still there.
Can I get a direction here of what to do?

Hello, I am having the same issues with Newspaper and Bluehost. You ended up finding out that Newspaper won’t work with Bluehost at all? Did your issues get resolved when you switched to a different theme? Thanks in advance for your help!

Thank you for getting back to me! I sent an email to contact@tagdiv.com last night when I made this thread. I provided all of the information required (wp-admin access, license key etc.) but only received a generic response back about speed without anyone actually looking into the website to see if there was any specific issues that can be fixed with the theme. If you could take a look that would be amazing. Thank you so much! I just need to know if the theme is or isn’t going to work for me because right now the site is un-useable with how slow it is being. I put in a lot of effort to create it with newspaper theme so I would love if the issue could be resolved with me keeping the theme. I have done all of the speed optimization strategies that have been suggested but none have worked. Thanks!

Sorry for not responding sooner. I did not find a resolve, however, I had to move to another theme ASAP due to a quick launch of the website to get it going.
Was there a resolve to this? Has it been determined this theme will not work on BlueHost? I would really like to use this theme as it fits the style better I am looking for. However, I can’t have 10 second load times.
Hi Stix, bingetowntv contacted us by email and we saw that he uses the Newspaper theme, which allows both standard templates and cloud templates and the problem was somehow related to the logo on the standard header, in his case the simplest solution was to replace the standard header with a cloud one.
If you want, we can also investigate this problem for you and find a solution, we can test this on a subdomain or a staging to not affect the live website.

Hey Calin. I would really like to give it a whirl again as I love the newsmag theme, and I am not sure what is different with the newspaper theme versus it, but it seems like the newsmag theme would be perfect for what I need. Also, sorry for bailing so quick before on trying to get it used. I soft launched the website and announced on social, and when it wasn’t working well, I wanted to get something up and running ASAP for the moment.
I can set up a new site / domain (or sub domain) to test it if you would like on my hosting. Let me know what you would need. As a side note, I have never switched themes before while a site is live, so this would be new to me to do (and I might have to pay for support on that). The demo layouts are nice to start off with to tweak. So I am not sure what I would need to do from here.
Update: I did attempt to do an install on a new dormant domain just to see if I get the same results. I cannot get past the license key as it says it cannot validate. Not sure if this is because the key was used in the previous install I deleted, or if there is an issue.

UPDATE: Just wanted to post an update to the group … tagDiv ( Calin and team ) found the issue and helped get my website fixed with the install issues I had, and I now have the theme installed and working on my website with no issues!
