New Lazy Load

Hey guys,

I was glad when I’ve seen the notes for the latest release with the new lazy load. However, I think I had higher expectations from this change, currently, my pages load way more faster without Lazy Load turned on. Also, Google PageSpeed gives me slightly higher grades without it (did several runs). Is it possible the script is the problem? Do any of you have similar results?

Hi,

We get the opposite result on our end. With the option off I got 2.56 seconds load time for a certain page on a test platform we have and with the option, I got 1.95 secs.
There could be other resources affecting the page speed on your site.
Please check your browser console for errors and provide a link to your site so we can also inspect it.

Thank you!

The site is: http://www.pocketmeta.com

Currently, the plugin is disabled, let me know if/when you want it enabled. Also, I didn’t check the homepage, only single pages.

Hi,

The website you provided is very fast as it is currently, a pleasure browsing it. The lazyload should improve the speed even more, by not loading all the images at once, but gradually as the user scrolls down the page. This reduces the page size and there should be a noticeable improvement.

Previously the lazyload the theme used was not a true lazyload, now this has changed and a new implementation has been developed from scratch.

Hey,

I don’t disagree it’s not loading properly for me, but if I do a Google Pagespeed test, besides having a very low grade, it shows that images aren’t deferred. I’m not sure why.

I’m not using the mobile plugin. Also, the mobile grade is slightly higher with lazy load turned off, I’ve did 5 runs to do an average, but since there are too many factors, I won’t blame LAzy for this. However, I don’t understand why it doesn’t show the images are deferred.

Edit: If I test the site on my mobile device (not emulated), the images are not lazy loaded at all, it loads the full page.

Disregard that, I had an extension of the mobile browser. It seems to work, but the PageSpeed still shows the page isn’t lazy loaded.

I see it like this at the moment – https://www.screencast.com/t/OECKQZ4fvOM

The lazyload seems to work fine on your website, I browsed it for a while.
