Hi there,
I’m used to use the chrome device emulator to QA the appearance on different screen sizes. What currently really bothers me is the following:
If I’m optimizing on desktop, I indeed do double check the appearance on different screen sizes. Doing so, I reduce the screen size in the device emulator, which works just fine.
BUT: As soon as Newspaper switches to the new mobile theme, it remains there – no matter if I set the emulator values back to default, extend the screen size or whatever. Can’t do anything to get back to the standard web UI instead of the mobile one. The only thing that helps: Empty my cookies.
Can you reproduce this?

Hello muggi15,
Please notice that the Mobile Theme is an additional plugin of our theme and it is optional. This feature can be disabled from the panel is you will turn off the mobile plugin. If you will do that, the theme will be switched to the default responsiveness mobile version and this will bring all your customizations which you have done for the mobile version. As you can see, the mobile theme is totally a different template and if you want to customize it as you want, you will have to add all your custom CSS code in the certain field from Mobile Theme, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/iaPKq1eg
If you refer to something else, please provide more details so I will be able to provide a more accurate response.
Thanks.
Hi Catalin,
so sorry to say that – but this didn´t help me as well 😉
I´m sure you know the chrome dev device emulator: https://developer.chrome.com/devtools/docs/device-mode – that is what I´m talking about. As soon as I switch to mobile, I can´t go back to desktop without clearing the cache. Normally, the template should adapt to the screen size as this makes e.g. development easier – but that doesn´t happen here…
You know that I mean?
Hello muggi15,
Please keep in mind every time, when you use the emulator, and you switch to a different layout (device) you will have to press the Refresh button to load the suitable layout, depending on what device is used. Please notice that this is the theme behaviour and it will not be changed.
Thanks for your understanding!
