My site – AjijicToday.com was created with the TopNews theme which I have had a number of issues with. After much research I bought the Newspaper 8 theme. I imported the demo without the content as instructed and now I’m trying to revise my pages, but I am really struggling. I’ve read forum posts and the documentation but I’m still lost. I’m trying to use the Visual Composer to add elements to mirror the ones I had on the pages, but even though I save the edits, when I preview the page there’s nothing there. All I see is code from the previous theme. Really appreciate any help to get me started because I think this theme is going to be awesome.

I have inspected your website and I saw that you are using a lot of untested plugins which might interact with the theme core files and cause a lot of unknown issues. Try to disable all of them and leave just to active only the required plugins and then, try to create your homepage according to the following useful video tutorial here -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2wGizMz4X0&t=82s
Now, I saw on your homepage some shortcodes which do not come from our theme, sorry! Please roll back to the default theme functionality, clear all the caches and check the results.
