Hello, I have been trying all through today to make a post on my wordpress website with the newspaper theme but posts have been published successfully but not showing on the frontpage of the website or the category selected for the post. I have tried everything I could search for online but it points to me to contact the theme developers. Please see the website here http://www.scorenigeria.com.ng
Thank you
Hi,
In the top grid I currently see the latest post being from February 18
– http://prntscr.com/mn24zy
In the block below the grid you seem to be using a random sorting, so that works accordingly. All blocks and grids have a sorting option, if you want the latest posts sort by latest
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/block-settings-guide/
If you use a caching plugin check it’s settings as well. Should be set to clear itself when new content is published, or some similar setting.
Thanks
Hello, It seems we are both seeing different things at different ends. I have just logged in again and could see that a few posts that were made yesterday are now displaying. However, I have just made another “test post” and cannot seem to find it on the homepage. Please note that the first block section at the top of the homepage is set to show any new post irrespective of the category where the post is made. It should sort all latest post and that it has been doing until suddenly it stopped yesterday.
I don’t have any cache clearing pluggin installed till yesterday evening while I was trying out several possible solution to the problem.
Please if you want I could give you login access to the website so you can figure the problem.
Thank you
Hi,
I see it like this currently – http://prntscr.com/mnihj5
From what I can see there is caching active for the website – http://prntscr.com/mnij2t If you don’t have a caching plugin maybe it is server cache, check with the hosting provider.
Only caching can prevent or delay the latest content from being displayed, because of a setting from it most likely. The theme itself does not have any caching, so in normal conditions as soon as for example a post is published it will appear immediately in an element sorted by latest and filtered to show content from all categories.
Thanks
Hi guys. I’m actually having the exact same issue on my site https://stluciatimes.com
Some people are seeing the newest posts while others are only seeing posts from March 7 and before.
I’ve disabled all caching and also stopped my CDN without success.
Hi,
@rafaelninvalle I see it like this – http://prntscr.com/mxses0 – http://prntscr.com/mxseyq
If some users see it properly while others do not, the problem would be on their end most likely. Browser cache can be a cause for this to happen.
On the other hand if the difference is between logged users and non-logged users, that would be caching issue, most caching plugins or methods do not cache the content for logged users. The others may see cached content.
Thanks
Hello Tagdiv,
Apparently it was a malware infection that affected my site. It later started redirecting to another IP address and later on, the website totally went blank. I had to contact Commodo CWatch to get rid of the malware. they did manage to quarantine the files that were infected and that has not made the website to lose functionalities. I could only see the text content, the other graphical part of the website is no more. Even when you try to login to the control panel, a 90% of the functionality has been removed. What is the best advice you can give me to restore my website back to its state so it can function well. I want to retain all post and still have all functions working. I don’t have a backup of any sort and the back up the hosting company has is infected so they can’t restore that as well
Hi,
Using a backup may also restore the malware. The website looks alright and working from what I can see at the moment. It looks same as before, at least in the frontend. What problems are you facing exactly?
Posts would only be affected if there are problems with the website database, that is where they are kept.
Thanks
take a look at the back end when you logged in. nothing works on the back end. You can’t make a post. Any link you click on brings you back to the same page. and look at the display of the entire backend, totally messed up:

2) https://bit.ly/2Hs2JQU

Even the front end, you can see all images are no more there…kindly advise what could be done to get my website working fine again.
This could mean that theme files are missing, I suggest that you reinstall the theme. Do it by FTP or by WordPress – https://tagdiv.com/how-to-install-newspaper-theme/
The problems should be solved after reinstalling.
I could not re-install the theme via wordpress since nothing works on the back end, I tried to go through the installation via FTP. I tried login in afterwards and the back end remains the same, while the front end says “stylesheet missing”. I was actually wondering if what I need to re-install is wordpress and not the theme, since it is the regular wordpress functions that are not working, but the question is how do I re-install the wordpress without losing the already existing data and content especially the posts made since 2years ago on the website.
Thank you for your assistance.
PS: I had to revert back to the former Newspaper theme folder since the new one I installed created more problem.
That is what I was doing to suggest next, maybe files from WordPress have been affected by the quarantine or removed completely because of the infection. WordPress does have a reinstall option – http://prntscr.com/n0yg53
Here are some guides I found – https://kinsta.com/blog/reinstall-wordpress/
– https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/how-to-reinstall-wordpress
Also make a database backup before doing it, so that the posts are safe.
