Is it possible to customise the news ticker? It would be great to change the text from TRENDING NOW to LATEST NEWS, with the ability to change to BREAKING NEWS where events warrant it.
It would also be great to be able to input text for these fields or choose the stories that appear.

Hello,
You will be able to translate the trending now title using the theme translation settings.
You can filter events in the news ticker if you want by changing the post type to ‘event’ or ‘events’ depending on the plugin used https://www.screencast.com/t/Q2i13H37mUlu
