Newsletter issue

Hello,
My newsletter provider is mailchimp and I want to collect the name of my subscribers which is important for personalization and just common to address them when you send out an email. However, by using your newsletter plugin, I’m getting an error message on the Mailchimp side and I do not see how to activate the name field.
This should not be just related to Mailchimp but anyone who wants to address their subscribers properly.
Please let me know how to add this field.
Thank you.

Hello!

Please provide more information about this issue or what you need to achieve, screenshots or a video, and your website link, so I can understand better and help you efficiently in a short time.

A solution for sending a screenshot or video is this:
Download, capture, send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
After making the screenshot, you will have a link, paste it here.

Thank you!

Hi
Not sure how to show as it is not working.
Your newsletter plug-in seems to not allow a field for collecting the name as all others, only email address.
So a visitor can only use their email address and I have never a way to address them by name.

Thank you.

Hello!

Unfortunately, you can not add extra fields there.

Thank you for understanding!

So can we expect an option in an update for that or do we have to discard the plug-in for not having the option?
Would be great if this would have been mentioned on the theme page that the plug-in is limited to email address field only and not allowing us to collect the name as all other plugins do. Sadly now second plug-in in theme package that is just half baked due to limitations (other one is opt-in builder for not allowing us to customize/remove unnecessary fields).

I had the same question. I created a form in MailChimp that included email, first name and last name. When I pasted the code into the Newsletter Plugin settings, it only showed the email address field. It took me quite a while playing around with the setting and eventually coming here to discover that the plugin only supports a single email field.

1. I would like to see the functionality expanded to actually use the fields that are created in the MailChimp form builder. It would make the plugin significantly more usable.

2. You should update your Newsletter Plugin documentation to call out that it will ONLY use the email field and not any other fields you set up in your MailChimp Embed Form. That would probably avoid some user frustration.

Hi stodd,
The Newsletter is only an interface for the MailChimp code.
1. If you want to be displayed in the same say the embed code has been done, then you can set the code in a raw html element or in column text/text with title elements.
2. I made a request for the documentation to be revised.
Thank you!
