I still run Newspaper 7.8.1. I’d love to upgrade to version 8 but there is so much custome code on my website that I don’t have the time to make all the customizations again. However, I would love to use the Newsletter plugin that comes with Newspaper’s latest version. Does the plugin work with my current version (7.8.1) of Newspaper?
I wouldn’t mind making some adjustments to the plugin to make it work on my version.

Unfortunately we have not tested the newsletter plugin on older versions of our theme so I cannot say for sure if it will work or not. The newsletter plugin was created based on the code of newspaper 8.7 so it will probably not work on older versions.
You can however test other newsletter plugin if you cannot update as there are many to choose from from the wp repository.

Sorry but unfortunately we cannot test new plugins on older versions of the theme. Plugins are tested on the version they are crated on and newer versions on each theme update. We do not test backwards compatibility. Please update your theme to ensure compatibility between the theme, plugins and WordPress.
