Newsmag multi language

Hi there,
we are currently building a news driven website based on newsmag theme.
It should be available in 2 languages (English, German).
Contents differ between the 2 versions.
While the German site is basically a blog / news page, the English page is more of a corporate website but also with blog posts
How can we include English / German language switch in the header / navigation?
How can we setup 2 different language sites?
How can we build 2 different sets of categories, tags?

Hello Thomas,

Our theme was tested with WPML and it seems to work as expected. If you want to have two languages for your website, you should use this plugin and adjust it to your website, according to our documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-theme-translations-together-wmpl/ and after plugin’s documentation here -> https://wpml.org/

Thanks for your understanding!

HI Catalin,

thanks for your replay. Unfortunatly, this is not what I was asking for. I dont want to have a translated copy of the site. I want a new, English set of pages with totally different content. That means I need a second main menu. How do it set this up in Newsmag?

Hello Thomas,

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that allows you to add more than one main menu at your website, sorry! However, I suppose that you need to have multi-site, right? Notice that the Multisite is just a WordPress functionality and it can be done in a lot of ways. For more information about this implementation, please check here -> https://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network We recommend using the way of multisite when you have to create a new install for each subdomain and then you can make a redirect between them.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the message!

Hi Catalin, thanks for your suggestion. We’ll consider this for the near future. For now, we have just added a second main menue via plugin
