Newsmag vs. Newspaper: I bought both but fail to see critical difference

What’s the idea behind Newsmag? It seems largely identical to Newspaper.

Is Newsmag coded differently/better? It seems faster. Is that my imagination?

It’s a boxed layout, vs wide layout; doesn’t have some of the different demos; NP has some additional bloat as the “big gun” for TD sales. Newsmag is a little more focused on publishing a magazine vs being anything for everyone as NP is.

speed is more a factor on optimization, modification, elements chosen, server and WP setup, etc.
