I am currently working on redesigning a website for my client, DC Witness.
I’m having issues with the text box element. I am attempting to put in raw HTML code to embed different plugins into columns and rows, but it won’t let me save the contents of the text. It lets me click to edit the contents, but nowhere is there a save button and clicking out of the box just deletes the changes I’ve made.
I am using the Newspaper 8.8 Theme.
Any assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

There were some issues with version 9.0 last week, in 9.0.1 these were fixed however. In 8.8.2 there were no problems with the text elements.
All that is required with the HTML widget, is that you enter code in it and it should be rendered

No save button needed, the code once entered it will save once the page is saved. Maybe it is something specific to the code you are using. Does the same happen if you enter some normal text?
