Newspaper 8 TD Composer Vs. Visual Composer

When we upgraded timandjulieharris.com to Newspaper 8, I installed TagDiv composer and it broke all our pages. I have just deactivated it and everything seems to be working again.

Will it be possible to continue using the Newspaper theme with TD Composer turned OFF? Everything we have, including several plugins, are written using the VC plugin and it will take major work to rewrite them…

You should use one *or* the other, not both.

Tagdiv Composer is a lighter weight version page builder which is more secure than VC, doesn’t need activation from WPBakery for support, and is much faster with smaller footprint. But not a 1:1 replacement either.

it’s there as option for those who don’t like VC, or where there are resource problems with hosting account, or who don’t need all the bells and wistles VC has which many peeps never use.

I think they have a comparison for it someplace …

From what I understood from Tagdiv, they will no longer offer support for VC in conjunction with the Newspaper theme. I’m having the same problem you are. For now I have the Tagdiv Composer deactivated. But based on what they told me it seems that it won’t make sense to move forward with the theme using VC. Their entire focus is on making updates to the theme with the Tagdiv Composer only.

Hi,

BUT the tagdiv composer only works for pages, NOT for posts. So how should we even switch?

I would like and need to go on with the Visual Composer. Is this possible? Will it work if i buy a regular license from wpbakery? THX.

Hello graffa,

If you do not like our page builder, you can use the VC composer. Do not worry but notice that in the future we will release some features which will be exclusively for TD Composer and if you are using the VC, all of these will not work.

Thanks for the message!
