Newspaper issue with paypal and The Kid's Store pre0built site

I decided to try the Newspaper Theme’s “shop” template to build my wife an online shop. It’s not quite where I want it yet, but I’ve only been at it a few hours. I have some products, categories, prices, shipping, etc in place. I thought I had the PayPal setup and ready, but when I did a sample order, put them in the cart, and went to check out, I got this error:

There are no payment methods available. This may be an error on our side. Please contact us if you need any help placing your order.

Even though I’ve been through the PayPal setup several times and saved the settings, I’m still having this error.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Edited to add:

I would like to add that I’m using WordPress 6.4.1
and Newspaper Version: 12.6.2.
On the server, I’m using PHP 8.2.12
