Whats new with the Newspaper New Update Download
and if i upload that would it mess up my setting like it’s back to 0 or what?
why can’t it just have an update through wordpress?

You can look at the changelog from the “all files” download file; primarily it’s a download today to provide the fix for Visual Composer which broke with the launch of WordPress 4.1.
The theme cannot auto-update via WordPress as it’s a commercial theme, not hosted at the WordPress.org theme system.
