Hi π
I love your theme, and just started using the WP Recipe Maker plugin (pro version) for my recipes. Unfortunately, even though I have selected the “No Smart List” option, the recipe displays with the smart list black squares.

The WP Recipe Maker template also had a “Pinterest Button”, but I had to remove it from the template because it altered the Pinterest buttons (both before and after the content) in the Newspaper theme.
I disabled all plugins to see if there were any other conflicts, but there aren’t. I purchased WP Recipe Maker and would like to use it. If you could fix these things so I could publish my recipes with an actual recipe template that has proper google schema that would be fantastic π
Bummer! I thought for sure since you had a “Gourmet Pro” demo that the theme was made for recipes π This plugin is one of the most popular recipe plugins WordPress has, too. Did you test your theme with any recipe plugins? If so, can you please tell me what they are so I can try them out. I can’t figure out the correct code that will remove the numbers just on the recipes (not all other list posts) and fix the location of the servings calculator. Thank you so much π

Hi Bettina π
I’m not sure why your theme has issues with recipe plugins… I’ve tried the WP Recipe Maker, Tasty Recipes, and just now, the “Cooked” recipe plugin which uses shortcode that actually doesn’t cause issues with the smart list feature of your theme. Unfortunately, however, there is a problem in that the Newspaper theme won’t allow me rate the recipes or “like” them. When I click on either the rating or the “like” heart button, I’m simply taken back to the top of the post with no rating or like π
I know others in the forum have had issues with recipe plugins, but no one has posted their solutions here, and I am not a coder/developer π
I know that you have packaged plugins into your theme… is there any way that you can add a recipe plugin as well? That would really be fantastic!
Hi,
Yes, we have in plane to make some testes with some recipe plugins and ad the one that it is working with our them to tested plugins.
About the current problem, I think that the like button is not targeting the right element, maybe it is targeting the cloud template, if you can provide a link to check it I will be able to confirm if is so.
Thank you!
Hi Calin π
Here’s a link to a recipe: https://tennischickmag.com/2022/04/14/serve-up-these-delicious-donut-muffins-at-your-next-home-league-match/
You’ll see that when you click on the stars or heart, the screen just moves to the top and no ratings are left.
Personally, I would rather use the WP Recipe Maker plugin (please see my starter post in this thread) but have settled on this one (Cooked Pro) because I can add the recipe via shortcode so it won’t trigger the black number squares in the smart list. If you could test your theme with the WP Recipe Maker plugin, it would be awesome π
Thanks so much for everything π
