I want to use different header templates for different languages (English and Chinese) because I want to show different header image (CSS background image ), different tagline and different logos for different languages. Same for footer.
I created 2 different header cloud templates with languages linked.
In theme panel, I tried to select English in language filter and then select the English header cloud template in header template, and Chinese for the Chinese
But I find that the header template option only followed that of ‘all languages’.
It shows WPML is unable to translate your theme option.
Can you tell me either:
1) Enable translation of theme options (If WPML cannot do this, there is no reason for me to buy it. I could use free polylang)
2) How to unlink my homepage from the cloud header template (it is default set when I installed Romania news) so that the homepages can carry the header ( not be linked to the cloud templates)?

I think that what you mean, is to change the headers from here -> https://i.imgur.com/SBMBXzU.png per language, unfortunately is not working like this, there are two ways, you can use the string translate or you can use different header template per language.
For example -> https://i.imgur.com/pb75g5n.png in theme panel we set this one -> https://i.imgur.com/zO0rtII.png after that we add a new page in French -> https://i.imgur.com/IwdyVgp.png (also you need to have post in that language and after that add pages) on this page we set with manager another header -> https://i.imgur.com/dO7U5aQ.png

Thanks, problem solved. In this way, Polylang can also do it.
I bought WPML because I thought it can do theme option translation.
I dont see why WPML is more compatible than Polythan with Newspaper.
Also in WPML it cannot find any strings in string translation system. I have scanned 128 strings in newspaper theme but it just doesnt show up in string translation system.
But Polylang string translation system can find all necessary strings.

Indeed WPML plugin is quite complicate.
In order to use the string translate, for example for the header -> https://prnt.sc/rumozl and in WPML String -> https://prnt.sc/rumqn5 then you need to set the id of the header you want to be set for that language -> https://i.imgur.com/ghCu54I.png -> https://i.imgur.com/UAgVTC6.png -> https://prnt.sc/rumrbd

I genuinely use follow your string translation method (WPML finally fixed my string table and I can use it now!!). My website has 3 langauages zh-hant (default), zh-hans and EN.
The English header and footer shows properly now! But zh-hans header in single post is still not correct. (I have set properly in website manager and then now string translation).
