Since updating newspaper theme to 10.3.9 (WordPress 5.6) I have no featured images showing on homepage on PC (seems OK on phone)

I have had to rollback WordPress to 5.5.3, the problem still exists on the three websites I have that were updated to WordPress 5.6. I cannot do the WordPress update until this problem is solved. I have disabled every plugin and it is definitely the Newspaper theme (10.3.9) causing the issue on the WordPress 5.6 update.
Yes, that’s the problem. The solution is coming back to wordpress 5.5.3 or used jQuery migrate helper and change the option about js version.
It’s a theme lack of compatibility with wordpress 5.6 so they need to solved it asap and stop saying us that the problem is about a plugin or wathever.
