That message is simply an indication about how to add a sidebar on your page, using the widgetised sidebar element. If you choose a latest articles template the sidebar settings will be available for that section. More about the available page templates here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
Regarding the update notice, that could appear if you had an old Visual composer version before the update. Please provide a screenshot if possible of the notice and where it is occurring.

Everything seems to be in order, and if you have no issues in utilizing the Visual composer editor in your pages, then it is working properly. What I meant was about the Update notice that you mentioned in your previous reply and if you have any problems with the editor, in which case please let us know if this is preventing the functionality of Visual composer or you are experiencing any problems.
