I am with some pages being flagged by Google Console as “noindex”. Why this mistake? how do I get the pages to start indexing?

I think when I was testing the platform and inserting the first elements the option was like “noindex” – now I need to know how I edit those pages to change for indexing. see my dashboard on google console.

“URL sent as “noindex”: The page was submitted for indexing but has a “noindex” directive in a metatag or HTTP response. If you want to print an indexed page, remove a tag or an HTTP response. ”
I want editar this pages to remove de tag “noindex”.
How should I do it?

Hi,

Unfortunately, please notice that our theme does not control this thing, sorry! You should install and use the Seo Yoast plugin and also, set up the robots.txt. For more information about this, you should read the next useful guide from here -> https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-edit-robots-txt-through-yoast-seo/

Thanks for your understanding!

Good morning. is not it! I know that the part of SEO is the competence of those who hire. I need to edit pages that are active and have not been indexed in Google at first. How do I edit an already published page – do I see its codes? For exemplo – this page?
I need to edit this published page without needing to republish it.
Tags pages too!

a) check your setting in the main WordPress panel under ‘reading’ to make sure you don’t have ‘hide from search engines’ active
b) if using Yoast SEO (or other SEO plugin), make sure you don’t have a ‘post specific’ setting active to set page to ‘noindex’ *and* check to make sure you have your taxonomies checked ‘yes’ to be included in sitemap, otherwise they are marked noindex.
c) check the post does not have the setting in the post page from WP as ‘private’
d) check your htaccess file and robots txt files to ensure you don’t have any custom directives added to hide posts by URL, or ID
e) resave your permalinks; clear caching; optimize db

Theme does not control ‘hiding’ your posts/pages in any way.

Tags are not posts/pages, but only an index created from a post which has the tag added by you. You cannot edit the tag page, but you can delete it.

Typically the reason you might have tag pages set to no index is if you’re using a plugin like Yoast and have the setting in there to not add to site maps.

Similarly, this can also be controlled by separate site map plugin.

You can try disabling/removing Yoast SEO or other SEO plugin; delete any folder that the plugin created with redirects or similar.

Again — not managed by the theme; but by something *you* or your developer chose to do; so good to document this stuff when doing it, also make backups of your site before doing anything further.

Hope that helped, a little.
(I don’t work here.)

Hello Viju,

The theme does not come with the robots.txt file by default. You should create it your own. Check more details about this case, here -> http://www.robotstxt.org/robotstxt.html -> https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-optimize-your-wordpress-robots-txt-for-seo/

Thanks for your understanding!
