Non-responsive mode in 4.3

Hi there,

Since TagDIV has removed the option to disable the theme’s responsive mode in version 4.3, is there any known workaround for this?

Please let me know, both me and my website are no fans of responsiveness. Don’t wantz it, don’t needz it…

Thanks 🙂

I think per the docs if you just add a background color it makes a boxed layout without the responsiveness? Could be wrong. Responsiveness good for SEO and for different users to see best size of content, but your needs are different, it seems.

I think next version of theme is rumoured to bring back some kind of panel explaining the responsive options.

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, your first assumptions is not true.

Adding background, thus boxed, still results in responsive design in 4.3 🙁

Hm. I thought there was still a “fixed” layout option someplace. But that was me “guessing” … I’m waiting for 4.3.1 to move from 4.2.2 …. so, not yet feeling the torment on this issue. ( face palm )

I guess for the moment, go back to earlier version to keep “fixed” layout option.

Hi,

Thanks @Christopher!

@OuweAap
unfortunately the fixed layout was also removed together with the 980px layout within 4.3 theme version. We plan to rebuild the frontend in the future (next 2-3 months) and unfortunately we had to make this move. We also plan to build a plugin that adds the removed section for users who need it.
A solution for this would be to use the previous version of the theme, if you need it send an email at contact@tagdiv.com , specify the request and we will send it to you.
Sorry about this and for the inconvenience.

Thanks

Quite disappointed, you are leaving users that do not want a responsive website out to dry.

Going back to older version is not an option because of some bugs. (like: “fixed bug with spaces between blocks + other UI problems“). Therefore this is, in no way, a solution.

So I have to wait 2 – 3 months now with the construction of my website? 🙁

@OuweAap
4.2.2 works awesomely on our sites with no issues impacting the sites …. couple of minor CSS changes we did, but that’s common to any customization. Nothing really disastrous or ultra painful in 4.2.2.

Hi Lucian, Chris,

Thanks for the mental support, and actual support 🙂

I have decided to put my site on hold till the fixed layout returns. I have enough of other things to do, so no problem.

Thanks 🙂
