My website has the collaboration of several writers and the website has been in existence for a year. When replacing the previous theme by Newspapper the number of views of the articles reset. This is normal? If so, is there any way to retrieve the views from the period before the template was modified and update?

Yes, it is normal that the view counts to be reset, because those are usually custom implemented in each theme that have this option and most possible do not have the same structure in code and database.
Now our theme allow you to set the number of views manually,, go in posts and enable the custom fields -> https://i.imgur.com/NavHTFn.png after that down in post will appear the the custom field options -> https://i.imgur.com/waKZBHe.png change it -> https://i.imgur.com/NAFEi9p.png and check the results. Now this can be done only on each post in part, and I think that you want to doo it for all posts, for this use this function – https://pastebin.com/pKcWYFUt (wp-content/plugins/td-composer/legacy/Newspaper/functions.php)
The value can be changed, I set it to 1000. Enter it in the theme functions file. Refresh a post page and check if the views were updated. Then remove the function and the view should increase from the set value.

unfortunately for us “Classic editor” WP users, you keep repeating the exact same reply for “how to reset count in posts” – Using Gutenberg editor layout? To enable options, you show a 3 dot menu (top right) and Options(bottom right sidebar) to display the editor change locations. Neither of these attributes show up in Classic editor – So everyone like us, still has no clue how to enable options to reset Count!

I will briefly try to explain where they can be edited on both WordPress editors:
On the Gutenberg editor click on the 3 dots and click on performance, then select the panel tab and enabled the additional custom fields – https://i.imgur.com/2U9pgNx.png – https://i.imgur.com/qhuSWvq.png
For the classic editor – click on the screen option and check the custom fields – https://i.imgur.com/kkANB7L.png – https://i.imgur.com/KxKzobP.png

I understand your screenshots for Classic editor – to enable Custom Fields; however, within the Screen Options, there are NO Custom field boxes to check. See my Img attached. Is this a WP admin issue on my end, or TagDiv theme setting that is off?

Maybe you have a plugin which interferes with the classic editor, which hides the custom fields.

Thanks, Anamaria, I checked all of my plugins, even deactivating any potential interference – no changes to Screen Options – Custom Fields does not appear as an option.
The only time i have seen this issue is now, having migrated to the tagDiv Newspaper theme – Classic Editor no longer shows the Custom Fields option.
