Numerous server paths indexed for no reason

Hi guys,

I received a google alerts report showing that numerous server paths have been indexed. Although nothing in this regard has been made, I can indeed see those links in the index.

Example from google alerts:
of /wp-content/uploads/wpo_wcpdf (bit.ly/2t5nZ3r)
of /wp-content/uploads/revslider/templates/spaceopera (bit.ly/2uHUSFb)
of /wp-content/uploads/revslider/templates/imagegallery
of /wp-content/uploads/revslider/templates/parallaxzoomslices
and so on.

How can I fix this?

Theme doesn’t control that. That is part of WordPress core.

However, Google can ‘index’ parts of your internal structure if you change themes as temporarily there is no ‘theme’ in place to serve pages; which is why one normally uses a “maintenance” plugin to put in place while changing things.

Might not be your issue; but theme does not control submission of anything to Google or include raw paths to open folders.

However, if an element is loaded from a sub-folder via a plugin, that folder is obviously being read to load the content inside of it when the page is rendered — meaning Google knows that folder exists since the path is used in your post/page in some way, such as loading the template for a slider.

If not using revolution slider, you should disable that.

Rev slider is off, I don’t use it. Such a thing never happened before. I don’t know how to proceed with this and if this is a problem for the SEO or not.

I see an issue with duplicated content in google’s search console which is concerning the above mentioned urls. Please check the print scr.

Not related to theme, but your uploads folder and possibly a caching plugin or something adding alpha queries onto ends of file names — theme doesn’t do that AFAIK. I don’t work here, sorry.

There’s no caching plugin.

so, you’ve debugged by disabling all your plugins to see if those files are still there after doing so? To determine how they are being created?

cleared all transients with wp-optimize ? resaved permalinks ?

no idea how they have been created. Many of the paths are to folders located in folder …/revslider/templates/… , which is off and actually never been switched on.

I tried deactivating of all plugins and used wp-optimize – the paths in question are still accessible and index-able. These urls are not included in the sitemap. I hape only post sitemaps, post-tag sitemap and category sitemap. In the meantime duplicated content issues in the search console are counting.

I don’t have a caching plugin but use memcache and litespeed on the server (it’s a shared hosting). However I don’t think this has something to do with the problem.

I see that many sites have a similar issue:
