Now that the wordpress amp plugin is stable and is now officially the main amp plug in for word press, I’d like to see the newspaper theme officially support it, rather than having a separate addon for it, apart from the obvious duplication of work, i keep running into issues where I can’t use your add on for amp pages as various plugins i use don’t support it, whereas they do the offical wordpress version, an example of this is The Seo Framwork amp addon.
Why not simply deactivate the Tagdiv AMP plugin?
We’ve been using the official Automattic AMP plugin with TagDiv themes since 2016 without issues. So, no reason you can’t use it now. 🙂

the AMP theme dosn’t match does it, i’m sure when i tried to before the look of the normal site and the amp pages were really different.,
some of the add ons i’d like to be able to use are one signal and google tag manager

There are plans to improve our own AMP plugin in coming updates. I can’t say exactly what these improvements will be, at the moment. As for compatibility with the plugins you mention, I could add this on the list for testing but I can;t promise anything. Sorry for the inconvenience.

There is a section for adding the analytics code in the AMP plugin, but not for tag manager.
Only by making modifications to the plugin itself you could add the necessary code, the head and body tags within the plugin are here
