On Hover Secondary Image in Shop Index

Hi all, been slamming my head against the wall to get a secondary image of my product to show on hover / mouseover. The amount of CSS selectors to parse on the product thumbnails is a little daunting, I’ve been using ChatGPT to help with some code approaches but obviously not working out too well.

So many of my shirt designs look the same from the front, feel like getting the alternate (back) view will help out with some sales.

Is there any advanced setting I’m missing in TagDiv Shop or on the Woo Loop element? Would appreciate any direction, cheers.

I watched a tutorial where I use ACF to make a secondary image class, then edit the Woo Loop layout and add some custom CSS, but there’s no way to edit the actual thumbnails or image assets within the Woo Loop element. So, pretty legit dead end…

Hi,
Sorry, but there is no option for this in our theme, and I think it can be done only with custom work, you’ll need a custom woo element to can display a different image on hover.

Ah, that’s unfortunate, it feels like a relatively minor feature that could significantly improve an online storefront. Is there any chance you can add it to the product roadmap for TagDiv Shop?

Assuming that’s going to take a while, how would I create the custom Woo element? The shop itself is using the ‘Woo Shop Base Template – Blog Gadgets’ cloud template from TagDiv, but I don’t see any way to actually customize the image elements themselves within that template, everything just seems like one big group.

Happy to put in the legwork for some custom code, but it sounds like I might have to remove TagDiv Shop in order to apply any of these proposed changes? Thanks.

Hi,

I added it to our list of suggestions and our manager and developers will check it.

I do not know exactly, but maybe there is a plugin that can display a different image for the Woo when you hover over the block image. For example you can try this plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/secondary-product-image-for-woocommerce/ and set the shortcode for voo using the element Woo Shortcodes https://i.imgur.com/RXwxXXF.png
