I have been reading some of the speed optimizing threads and many recommend to install/activate: OpCache.
So I contacted my host provider to have in installed on our VPS.
However, the replied that we currently have suPHP installed and its not compatible with OpCache.
IF we wish to have OpCache installed then they have to switch from suPHP to DSO mod_ruid2.
Is this advisable ? Switching to : DSO mod_ruid2 ?

That is entirely up to you and your web host and has nothing to do with the theme.
Basically you want to work with host to “optimize for wordpress….”
You do not have to have OpCache installed … it’s “recommended” — and is part of server setup and not part of WordPress or the theme.

But yes, OpCache is recommended.
So, yes, worth changing.

Suexec is a part of the apache webserver that allows cgi scripts run as the user in whose directory they are installed, rather than as the user ‘nobody’ or ‘apache’. This can be convenient both for security and practical reasons. The security restrictions imposed by suexec are documented at httpd.apache.org.
But good conversation to have with host .. “I want best setup for WordPress sites…. ” — if they don’t know what that means, get a new host 🙂
