Page (default template) sidebar puzzle

I managed to paint myself into a corner and I don’t know how I got there 🙁

I have created a number of pages which have a Navigation sidebar. I can’t figure out how I got that Navigation sidebar to display.

When I created the pages, I used the Default Template which does not allow me to select a sidebar. I also did not use TD Composer. I just typed in the content.

It’s a really odd question … but do you know how I managed to get the sidebar on these pages with the Default Template?

P.S. In addition, I’ve other other pages that are not using TD Composer that have two layout formats – one is a two-column format (content + sidebar) but with a blank sidebar. The other format is just one column. I have been searching through the theme panel but cannot locate how I manage to achieve these and I am unable to replicate them.

SOLUTION: Puzzled solved.

The issue was TD Composer. Once that is enabled, it prevents the normal assigning of templates and sidebars to individual pages. The pages that already had the customised sidebar were done before I installed TD Composer.

I temporarily disable TD Composer (which caused my home page to go kaput) assigned the template and sidebar I wanted and then activated TD Composer again.

Now this worked okay because it is in development, but on a live site, this just may not be possible. Do you have a solution?

Thanks
Terry

Hi,

Sidebars can be set for pages, but in the tagDiv composer. Either split the row and add content directly in the resulting sidebar column

Or add a widget sidebar element and select from your available sidebars

If the page is not built with the composer, a sidebar can be set in the back-end

That would be all there is to it. I believe there was an issue where you cannot set a sidebar in the back-end despite not using the composer for that page. Testing currently with latest version of the theme (9.0.1) that seems to be fixed. I can’t remember if in 8.8.2 which you are using this was fixed.
It would be best to consider to update the theme, then this issue should be fixed. You will be able to create pages with default content and also set a sidebar in the back-end of the page.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks
