Page slow to update/refresh on PC

Hi. I’m at the beginning stages of designing my website (as I am doing too many things as once), but I have the Newspaper 6 theme loaded with the default demo and the fake content. I have a small number of my own posts on the site.

When I have made updates to the page, it does not refresh to show the updates for at least 2 hours (but less than 24 hours) after I have made the change. I can go to my (Android) tablet and refresh and see the changes there straight away, but still the change does not show on my PC. I have tried closing my browser and reopening it, but this does not resolve it (and anyway, I don’t want to have to keep doing this).

I have Chrome as my browser. I have not had this issue before, with the default theme or with a different theme on another site.

Any suggestions on how to fix this please?

Kathleen

Thats not Newspaper problem.
Could be your hosting, cache, CDN, and a lot of things.

You are loading an old cached page 🙂

Hello,

Please try to clear your cache and/or try using a different caching plugin: we recommend WP Super Cache for the job. You can also try to purge your CDN files if you use it as Ing Geek suggested.
Let us know how it goes!

Thank you.

Hi

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes, I thought it might be some kind of caching problem, but why does it only affect my site with Newspaper and not my other site which has a different theme? My other site updates instantly on the same PC.

I’ll look into WP Super Cache. but I have no idea what ‘CDN files’ are, sorry. Could you give me some more info please?

Thanks in advance.
Kathleen

So I have cleared my cache, and reloaded the site multiple times, but my most recent post still does not appear 30 minutes after I posted it. It shows on my tablet.

Any further help you could give would be appreciated.

Hi,

You can try one more thing. Disable all of your plugins except visual composer and upload a new post to see if the delay is still there. If it is, please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your login information so we can take a look at this problem. Please also include a link to this topic so we know who you are and what the problem is.

Thank you!

Hi Bogdan

I have done what you suggested, and the post I published earlier today (nearly 9 hrs ago now) is still not showing (on the PC). I’ve also added a new post, with yesterday’s date, and changed the date settings (time zone etc). Neither of these changes show on my PC (refreshing the browser tab), even though I can see them on my tablet (also using Chrome).

I will email you.

Thanks.
Kathleen
