Page title duplicates

Hi, (this is not the logo h1 issue) for some reason, any page I create includes the page title in my template (which I want), but then it also puts the page title in the content area (above the text). How can I remove this, it’s strange as it’s not on my older pages, but on any new page I create, this happens. (this doesn’t happen with posts)

Hello,

It seems you have added this section in the header section https://i.imgur.com/0nBp2IO.png You can try to move it to the content section, or delete the element page title from here -> https://i.imgur.com/0scr4Up.png

Thank you!

Yes, the page title/post titles all appear below the header, but never in the content. Only on this page and any new pages, the h1 title appears in the content. I can’t delete page content with tagdiv so not sure what to do and why this is happening

Hi Bettina,

I have finally worked out the issue. Your team did some custom work for me around 2 years ago, to create the custom design (below the header, containing h1, breadcrumb and call to action box).

As the h1 page title is part of the design, your coders have hidden the page title using custom css on the theme panel. This doesn’t affect posts, only pages.

Obviously, hiding page titles is bad for seo, so my question is, how can I keep this same design, and a single h1 page title, without having to hide a page title in custom css?

Only page titles are hidden, not post titles, the designs are exactly the same and works perfect for posts.

Hello @mortgageman!

Delete the page title element from the TagDiv Composer and let only a page title.

Thank you!

I can’t do this, as deleting it removes the post title from the content on every post. Also, the page title doesn’t appear in the correct place if I do this.

Hello @mortgageman!

It should be ideal to have the content of the pages in the tagdiv Composer too and not in Gutenberg.

Thank you!

td composer isn’t good for content, as gutenberg or wp editors are better for seo. All I need is a page title element for pages, as there is for posts, that picks up the title from gutenberg. At the moment, the page title element removes post titles correctly, but doesn’t remove page titles, so your designers removed my h1 page titles using css which is hurting my seo

Hello @mortgageman!

So, please let them know about this situation so they can change the code.
From what I can see, we’ve spoken via email, and I said I didn’t change anything regarding this. So, I’m not sure who provides you with the code in this matter.

Thank you!

Hi, no it wasn’t you, this was around 2 years ago when I paid for custom work from yourselves. However, I am just looking for a solution.

At the moment, the page title is in the header tag, which has a global setting. The single post template picks the h1 tag up perfectly fine, and although pages do, it’s adding the h1 in content, which your custom people then hid in the css.

How can I get the page h1 to appear once, without hiding the h1 tag. Surely if we use h1 element, it doesn’t always duplicate the h1 from editor, or does it?

Hello @mortgageman!

Delete the CSS code, so check the results. You can also contact our customs department and ask to change that code.

Thank you!

If I delete the css, the page title appears twice. The css is to hige the page title. I just need a template that pulls post and page titles to the h1 element, without having to add css to hide page titles. Post titles work fine, just page titles I have this issue.

Hello @mortgageman!

If you can’t solve the issue with cloud templates or default templates, then please contact our custom work team here: https://tagdiv.com/premium-customization-services/.

Thank you so much for your understanding!
