Now, after the update, there is a problem with images filling in the placeholder area and no parallax effects as well.

Can you provide a link to see the issue? Could be a JS conflict there from a plugin. You have installed recently some plugins? Can you try to disable some of them and see if works.

No new plugins were installed before the update.
However, I disabled BWP Minify’s auto-minify for JS option – and it is now fixed.
This is of course not desirable, I guess this is something to do with new Java implementation of yours.
Which JS component should we ignore to overcome this issue, instead of disabling all minification?

Unfortunately there is no quick solution fort this. You will have to use another minification tool. Unfortunately we cannot make any suggestions as most of them create problems with our theme.
