Parent category link in Breadcrumbs is not active after update to Newspaper 8

After last update parent category link in breadcrumbs is not active on single post pages. How can i fix this?

Option SHOW ARTICLE TITLE is disabled.

Hello abst,

Ensure that your theme update has been correctly made via FTP way because this is the surest method in this regard. Also, if your problem is still there, you should remove all the untested plugins which can interact with the theme core files and causes a lot of unknown issues. Remove all fo them and check the results. For more investigations, you can provide your website URL so we can take a closer look at it.

I tried this on clear installation – http://joxi.ru/D2P3gOaspxPO6m. Last element in breadcrumbs not active (in this case – parent category).

Hi,

The last element does not provide a link. If you disabled the article title from the theme panel, and you want to make the previous category in the breadcrumbs active you will have to make a modification like this. Try to comment this code in the file mentioned

It should make the last breadcrumb link active.

Same problem here. I can also see some weird <span class=”td-bred-no-url-last”> and there are schema markup as well compare to previous version of the theme.

Please, solve the issue.

Hi,

Please provide more details about the issues you have encountered, so we can understand better and investigate.
There is no option to enable a link for the last breadcrumb element. It was never meant to, and there is no theme option to enable it. It will require theme modifications, as shown in the screenshot above.
