whenever I publish a post using post template 8, the featured image gets cut off on the top and bottom on the single post page. I tried taking the picture horizontally with my camera, it helped some but still cut some of the photo off on top and bottom of the photo. Example at bourbontrapper.com
I would like to not to have to take all my photos horizontally with my camera just to use this post style 8.
Hello,
Post style 8 simply adds your image as a background to the site and shows it through the transparent section at the top: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/td-post-2015-awards-all-of-the-best-and-worst-moments-from-the-show/
What this means is that you will have to make your photos widescreen. If a picture is full screen, and almost all of the screens today have a wide aspect ratio, I think it’s common sense, you will need an aspect ratio closest to the majority of the screen resolutions a user can have;. and that is 1920×1080 Most screens today share this resolution. Try to add your images in these dimensions and you will no longer have a problem with this post template.
Thank you!
okay so if i took my picture vertically, my featured image and the image on the content page gets cut off. Is there any way to make these types of pictures into a horizontal layout? I can edit the image and turn the picture sideways and the whole image shows up for the featured image on the front page but the picture is then sideways.
Also your previous reply, I dont understand how to add my images to those specific dimensions. when i try edit the image and scale it to those dimensions it wont let me use those specific dimensions, the first value changes after i change the second number to 1080.
Hello,
You will not be able to edit an image size from the theme or from wordpress. You will need a photo editor to do it on your pc and then upload it again in the correct dimensions. The theme has no photo editing capabilities.
If you do not have photo editing abilities, you will have to get some help from someone that knows basic photo editing. Unfortunately this is not part of the theme support and I cannot help with photo editing.
Thank you!
