How can I convert this photo from a square to its original aspect ratio, but in a size that fits on the front page?

Hi,
If that image is from a block and it represents the featured image from an article, then edit the page with atgDiv Composer and select the element, after that check the settings in the layout tab related to image – https://prnt.sc/qOVAf5laxl-8
